Dr. Zeynep Kezer, The School of Architecture, Planning and Landscape, Newcastle University

Zeynep Kezer is a senior Lecturer at the School of Architecture, Planning and Landscape, Newcastle University. Her research as an urban historian sits at the intersection of human geography, material culture and political science. She is interested in modern urban and architectural history and visual culture as well as the state-space relationship, infrastructure, violence and displacement, cultural landscapes, and collective memory. Her personal work focuses on 20th century Turkey, and more broadly in post-Ottoman regions.
